Who Are These People?

What an interesting group of people we are putting together in Syracuse this summer! There is a different kind of chemistry this year then there has been in past years. It would seem obvious because this is a different group of people then last year. New people that haven't even met yet are already anxious to hang out and play some music with one another. This should be a really fun and special year for the corps, especially given what we have to overcome as a group this year in order to achieve our goals.

You can hear some really great things going on when we get all of these people together in one place at the same time too. Some of the sounds coming out at practice are unreal. Being in the line for so long you forget just how the group has played together when they are really on. We aren't at maximum performance yet, but there are some great moments. The interpritation of the ensemble is out of sight, and the staff is very pleased with where we are right now. Even Wayne was impressed with what we have done so far. Hopefully we can get some good MP3's out and let people know that things really are happening in Syracuse and it's not just all talk and hype.

We work hard, but we play hard also, and that helps us to tighten our bond even more. The group is becoming pretty close outside of rehearsal time. This is something that we have had on and off over the years that I have been there. It is always a very positive and very good thing for the group though. I look forward to spending more time with all of these great people.

That's it for now, I am signing off for tonight...I will have plenty of other things for you all tomorrow.
