I've got to get out of here!

I have been couped up in the house all week so far because the weather has been absolutely terrible! Yesterday was the first decent day that we had if you like 1000 mph winds, imagine trying to see or do anything when there is nothing but wind in your face, not fun. So today wind, rain, sleet, hail, or sunshine I am getting out of the house! But before I go some interesting items of note!

First of all it's my moms birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! She doesn't have any cool websites or anything like that where I can wish her a happy birthday or anything, so I'll just put it up here! I know she reads this blog anyhow, she told me, plus I can see the stats for people that visited my blog and where they came from! How many people in her little town have any real interest in my blog anyhow!

This weekend we have three (four if you count both of Saturday night's dress run through's) performances. The first is Saturday morning at Community Wide Dialogue's "Duck Race" to End Racism. You can read more about our actual involvement in this event here. We follow that up with a long day of practice on Saturday and the two dress run through's of the show on Saturday night. If you live in the Syracuse or Central NY are, please come out and support us. The final performance of the weekend is on Sunday in Canastota, NY at the Boxing Hall of Fame parade. Again for those of you in the Central NY area, come and check us out this weekend. Even if you don't know what drum corps is, come and check us out! Check out a sample of what we do below!

Well that should about do it for today's update! I'm off to explore Montreal! See you folks next time!

So Many Changes! More to Come!

So by now many of you have been reading about and seeing the changes that I have brought to my blog. Today's latest addition comes from Twitter. This is another step that I have decided to take to allow more interactivity with my readers. I hope to update it regularly and give people a run down of what exactly is going on in the world of The LOUD Tour.

By now many of you may have noticed that I have switched my videos from YouTube to Blip TV. I am very happy with the switch. Not only can I bring you LOUD Tour TV in a more efficient manner, but I can also bring it to you in higher resolution because of the improved video format. You will also notice that unlike YouTube, MySpace, and Google video there is no watermark on the video. That is a huge plus! I will continue to load videos to YouTube from time to time, however those will only be the videos that show the most interest.

Another thing that I really like about Blip TV is the fact the LOUD Tour TV gets it's own full page dedicated to everything about LOUD Tour TV. Be sure to visit The Official LOUD Tour TV Page. Or get up to the minute updates by Subscribing to LOUD Tour TV.

I have other big news this week for LOUD Tour TV viewers. Stay tuned here and to the Official LOUD Tour TV Page for details really soon!

In other news it looks as though winter might be on the way out here in Montreal. It's still cold outside, but the days of -38 temperatures seems to be behind us. This means that I should be able to get out and shoot a lot more picture and video footage from some happenings around the city! I look forward to better weather and more time spent outside of the house!

The next big project for The LOUD Tour is going to be a major face lift. I have heard from several of you out there in the bloggosphere that I have great content, but an awful look! I have taken each of your comments into consideration and I am aware that changes need to be made in the visual department! So whoever has a really creative idea for a design and layout feel free to pass it along! If I use your design I will do a video review of your blog on a future episode of LOUD Tour TV!

You know the weather is bad when...

They close the 24 hour Wal-Mart Super Center! No joke! They are worried that the roof might collapse under all of the snow! Read all about it here!

This just so happens to be in the same town where we were supposed to have practice this weekend. Needless to say practice this weekend is cancelled and rescheduled for March. I was really looking forward to getting to play again this weekend. It has been a month since we last played together and some things were really beginning to come together. I guess we'll have to wait another two weeks and see if everyone has retained all that we learned. For now, a preview of the new Brigadiers Uniform!

The whole area has more snow then it can deal with though, and the lake effect snow still hasn't let up in the area. I remember a few years ago when we got over a foot of snow and the sun was out the whole day! For those of you that have never experienced snow like that, it is really bizarre!

In other news...there is no other news! So if you need me, this is where I will be!

Dinner with a view, snow...and the Booty Song!

The view from our table, originally uploaded by spcbrass.

What do you think? Not a bad view is it! Last night we had dinner at Restaurant l'académie in Montreal. The food there is really excellent! I had mussels, Christine had veal. I'll let her blog about dinner! We would have taken pictures of dinner, but we already looked like camera freaks between her cell phone and me taking this picture last night!

And we definitely got snow, not as much as they did in central and western NY, but we got some. I would really like to go get some pictures out there but with the wind I am afraid I'll either freeze to death or blow away today!

In other news I still need a haircut. I would go today, but I don't have the same abominable snowman outfit that Christine has for -33 weather! I know the place is literally just around the corner, but as far as I am concerned right now down the steps it too far for me to go!

For those of you that need a laugh today, listen to this!

This weekend is a Brigadiers weekend! Stay tuned for updates!

Throw another log on the fire!

I'm not gonna lie to you, it's cold out there! Today it is 7 outside with a wind chill of -9! I don't mind the cold weather, but once it gets down to single digits and negative digits, it isn't even worth going outside. I am going crazy with the weather being as cold as it is because I am not getting out during the day time at all. And now I understand why the beer here is stronger, because no one wants to go out and get anymore after you run out! At least if the weather would creep up to somewhere near freezing I wouldn't mind going outside. Well it's time to throw on another layer of clothes and go sit on my couch!

Finally winter is here!

Snow in Montreal, originally uploaded by spcbrass.

Today we are finally getting some serious snow that might stay around for a little while. We have seen a day or two with very little snow so far this winter, but snow will make everyone happy around here! They are calling for 8-10 inches by tonight. I may go out and take some more pictures of it later today if I feel up to it.
